Memories of school educational trips are among the most prominent of the formative years, largely because they are a welcome break from the routine for both students and teachers. While their purpose is essentially to educate, they also give the students an opportunity to know their peers better. These trips build on the knowledge gained through classroom learning, hence reinforcing familiar topics.
Swamy’s School organizes educational tours for all classes to science parks, museums, factories, handicraft making sites, archaeological sites, botanical gardens, wildlife parks and sanctuaries, planetariums and so on.
Teachers turn these trips into mobile classrooms, instructing students to collect data and quiz them or assign projects based on what they had learnt during their outings. Taking students into a new environment gives them the experience of travelling in a group and teaches them to be respectful of the locations they visit.
